11 Ways to Improve Your PR Engagement on Facebook

I recently came across an article that offered some amazing tips to PR and marketers who are looking to improve engagement on Facebook. ("Engagement" on Facebook involves your users actively participating with you online - they do this by "liking" your posts, "sharing" your posts and leaving "comments" too.) Most of the stats found in this post are extracted from research by Hubspot and Buddy Media Research and as seen in this article.
Photos Do Best: Hands down, photos result in more likes, shares and comments than text, video and links.
Be Short and Sweet: Posts of 80 characters or less resulted in 27% higher engagement rates.
Ask Questions: Ask good questions, but more importantly, place the question at the end of the post to increase your engagement by 15%.
Get an Ego: If you talk about yourself using the words "I" or "me", you'll attract more likes.
Don't Shorten Your Links: Keep your lengthy links intact and skip bit.ly and tinyurl shorteners. Doing this will increase your engagement threefold.
Watch the Clock: Posts that get the most engagement are posted in the early morning, at the end of the work-day or late at night. This is typically when people have more time to "check" their Facebook for the day. Also, engagement peaks on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Don't forget those weekend posts for getting the best engagement with your fans!
