Has Your Marketing Been Naughty or Nice? Shall We Check?

Make sure your marketing makes the grade this yearHubSpot has a little gift for all you naughty and nice businesses out there - its brand new Marketing Grader. Now you can see if your company "better watch out" this year or if it's doomed to be left in the holiday pixie dust of 2011.

Just in time for Christmas, companies around the world can unwrap and savor in this delicious - and free - new treat from HubSpot, the company that revolutionized the PR and marketing industry (more like turned it on its head) by popularizing the concept of Inbound Marketing.

Grade Me!

Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't "grade" myself. It's kind of like Googling yourself - everyone is doing it but few of us admit so.

Here's how to check your website's Marketing Grade:

  • Visit http://marketing.grader.com/
  • Enter your URL and press Enter
  • The HubSpot tool will generate your report while entertaining you with random quips. One I particularly liked was "Just the other day I actually had my leg pulled, just kidding."
  • Once your report is ready, you can see exactly what Santa is seeing when he and his elves are determining if your business's marketing was naughty or nice this year. You'll get a 360 view of your company's blogging, SEO, social media efforts and more.

As for Red Jeweled Media, I'm proud to say my marketing grade is an 87 out of 100. B+. Not bad. This grade is a reflection of all the things Red Jeweled Media is doing to market itself and serve as an example to our clients. Our PR agency practices what it preaches. We tell our clients to blog - so do we. We tell our clients to create remarkable content - so do we. We tell our clients to be engaged on social media - so do we. And of course, we tell our clients to do PR and bulk up their inbound links - so do we.

If you dare, I challenge all of you business owners to grade your marketing before the close of 2011 - and pop in a few of your competitor's URLs too to see how your business compares. Where do you see room for improvement in 2012? Reflect on the results and decide if you're ready to change that "grade" for the better, or if you're satisfied with being left behind.

If you're ready for change, contact us today for a free 30 minute consultation with one of our PR and Marketing Associates. Together, we can review your Marketing Grade and brainstorm how to make 2012 YOUR banner marketing year.

Oh, and you can download our brand new PR and Marketing Pricing Guide too - go ahead, "pull our leg":
